Kunstwerke von Liebe geschaffen by Ludovít Bari Kunstwerke von Liebe geschaffen by Ludovít Bari Aug. 31, 2011 $9.99 59046 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
Ludek Bari was born in 1949 in Czechoslovakia. In the 1980´s, he had an epiphany upon seeing wood carvings from Cuba, and fell in love with wood and wood carving. He started to carve wood reliefs. He thought that if he infused his carvings with tenderness, music, and poetry, they would give people the chills of aesthetic pleasure that he himself felt while carving. As he perfected his craft on figures of musicians, he realized that musical instruments, specifically the violin, contain all the elements he sought to portray. On his own, he learned the art of violin-making, and inspired by nature, especially by the female body, he crafted sculptural violins that were as beautiful to the eye as to the ear. His love of the female body has survived in his violin-making, wood carving, painting, and graphics to this day. His work has been the subject of an Australian documentary, and his sculptures and violins have been on display in numerous Prague galleries.

Once upon a time, in a former life, I had a Literary Agent who is now world class. Around the same time, I was paid to write 3 plays for a well-known Theatre Director. In no time at all, my first novel was published. These succeeding events, spread over 2/3 years, were so disappointing that I then gave up writing for 20+ years. Now decrepit and bed-ridden, I am making a late comeback. If I can attract a few readers with this off-beat piece, I will proceed to upload a couple of full-size novels (equally off-beat). AAP

Le Vent d'Avezan by Gaelle Kermen Le Vent d'Avezan by Gaelle Kermen Dec. 18, 2010 $4.99 63891 words Sample 20%

After teaching at writers conferences throughout the Midwest, she founded/directed the 3-day Mid-America Fellowship of Christian Writers conferences for four years until 1990. Photographic art entered by 2007, and within two years Villanueva was dubbed the Grandma Moses of the American Southwest by her artistic peers, and is represented in several online and walk-in art galleries across the nation. Critically acclaimed in the June 19, 2008 issue of the Rio Grande Sun: …Villanueva is one of those rare individuals who uses new technology…to take a digital image to a new and exciting level….With some photographers this digitizing and manipulation are evident and stumbling...not so with Villanueva's work, which is sophisticated and well thought out….She has a knack for transferring her impression of a scene to the viewer that is remarkable and almost magical. As Aggie states; The Fairy Trail is real, folks. Welcome To My Path.”
