Ever wondered how a plot device works? The difference between a minor and pivotal character? Need help with your book’s structure or your hero’s dialogue? This guide covers composition, narrative mode and character development, plus all of the dos and don’ts you’ve ever been curious about. We’ll also take an in-depth look at what sells in today’s market.
Author bio:
Sean Daniel Shortwinter began asking himself what Heaven would really be like back in 1995...and created a fictional world based on that question soon afterwards. In Heaven, there is infrastructure where people have jobs based on their abilities, such as JHAD (Joint Human Analysis Directorate) where talented signal analysts track murderers for God. And Gandhi opened an all-you-can-eat buffet soon after coming home. All those years of fasting, you see. The side we can't see has rules...all Belgians are sex offenders, the French automatically go to Hell for being - well, French. And Swedes always have a job waiting for them in Heaven when they die. They invented the Volvo, after all. Heaven is a place where God has a three-legged, one-eyed dog named Lucky, and believes that mankind's greatest accomplishments are the Volkswagen Beetle and Tab. On a more somber side, God also believes three things are always worth fighting for - Love, Children and Peace of Mind....and He's bone-cancer serious about the children. Harm a child and you'll find yourself thrown into the Poison Well - the black hole prison in Hell. Count on it. Coming soon: 'Poison Well' and 'She is My anger'

I am fascinated by certain aspects of science, particularly that of quantum mechanics and how science is now starting to prove some of the fundamental aspects of spirituality and religious philosophy.
How To Write Your Own Zombie Novel by Ian Hall How To Write Your Own Zombie Novel by Ian Hall Jan. 16, 2012 $2.99 6162 words Sample 20%
There are a lot of things to consider before writing your own novel. ANY Novel. There’s the choice of writing medium, what tense or POV to use, plot ideas, storylines, character names, to what degree to employ violence, humor, sex etc. ANY novel is bad enough. But you have so many EXTRA things to consider just for the Zombie genre. You need HELP, and it begins here.

I am Scottish, born in Edinburgh, and spent the first 41 years of my life, not far from my fair and bonnie "Athens of the North". I now live in Topeka, Kansas, with my wife (bless her), no pets (don't like 'em), no children (all moved out), and with many gallons of home-made wine bubbling as I write. My biggest acheivement to date (apart from the successful parenting of my darling daughter) is my published novel; "Opportunities: Jamie Leith in Darien." I'm not confined by genres, having equal success in Historical adventure, Sci Fi, Fantasy, Horror and hard hitting gritty crime. I watch far too much football (Don't even think of calling it 'soccer'.) and at times chase a dimpled ball along carefully manicured countryside, with a collection of calibrated, graphite-shafted sticks. I play guitar and sing in a folk/rock band, and would love to have enough money to tour the world's archeological sites until I'm too old to walk. I love to write, and enjoy literary challenges of all kinds. My blog is; http://www.jamieleith.blogspot.com My website is; http://www.jamieleith.com Thank you for your time. Ian.

I am a Canadian from Toronto, Ontario. Where I've attended University. I have interests in different things and always eager to explore new things. Thus said I've started in the computer field. Where attended college to achieve my Computer Engineering. I've developed in computers for a while. Through out the years I've become interested in Business where I've entered into business school for an M.B.A. and accounting degree. As an Aquarius I am a person of reason and truth. The courses of philosophy in university attracted me to get into Philosophy. Where I've majored in Philosophy. This has opened my mind and thought. Viewing things in many different ways. To reason, analyse, questions and argue on issues. This mind thinking has developed my mind to argue and debate. Which enough said. Lead me to attend in Law School. As a litigator I've had hands on, on many issues and encounters in life. Interesting, appealing rewarding. During these years I've started in one of my sport activities. Scuba Diving. Starting as a diver only in Toronto, Ontario. I've found this to be my favourite passion. Including underwater photography. To make things short I am presently a Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor and Photographer. Simply! getting people to engage in the passion that lead me to drop everything and pursue my unknown passion for the underwater environment.

The Stars by John Blandly The Stars by John Blandly Jan. 12, 2012 $0.99 1417 words Sample 30%
John Blandly, actor, artist--astronomer? What the--? Okay, he has made some discoveries he'd like to share. The fossil of that clam--why was that created? How about those excess galaxies? Why do we need them? Here are statistics about the relationships of some planets' polar tilts, rotational locks, and Alpha Centauri.
Author bio:
Generous small literary publications on rare occasions published my stories. Some are in "Short Stories Online," an ebook here. Like any writer, I depend on the kindness of strangers. "The Drip Theory" is included in a new ebook, "The Stars." I came up with the "Drip Theory" I don't know when, but when I mentioned it to a few people, they thought it was wild. I'm afraid to mention it to respected astronomers, who I come into contact regularly, and who already think I'm in deep space. "The Volunteers" was originally published in "Studio" (Australia). I love Australia and hope some day to visit there. South America too. Here's a link to a new short film, please forgive me: it's called "John Blandly eBooks" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvMuExUS61M&feature=related here's another one" "Parents Weekend" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLLqGAxWAAA&list=UUqSJRvokev5kxqWNfYczwCQ&index=2&feature=plcp Love stories--that's what I like in a book or a movie. Some love stories here are "Girlfriends Lost," and "The Volunteers." There may be others. Sci Fi alert! Man your battle stations! Or woman them, whatever you want. I have always been interested in astronomy. I get new books almost every year (almanacs), since there are always new discoveries. "The Meddlers," and "Peeps" deal with what might happen if there was virtual travel to nearby stars, which I think will happen. I am continuing to work on Enhanced eBooks, which includes photos or films or music. Here, "The Underground," is perhaps the best example, but there is some enhancement with photos or art in "Famous Fake Books," "Rock Star Diet," and "Girlfriends Lost." The enhancement makes the books harder to edit for publication through the premium catalogue. The typescript gets variable--big--small--different fonts. The conversion process rips away formatting I guess. I am just a simple literary anarchist, working my way up to I don't know what. I just added a new improved version of Rock Star Diet, with more jokes, and photos of my favorite rock stars. Check out my films by searching johnblandly on YouTube. Phantom of the Art Gallery http://www.youtube.com/user/JohnBlandly#p/u/0/XiDzQvtkbcA I reside in the wilderness of the New York frontier. Here are some links to navigate with me! "Abbie," the love story of Frankie and Maisie, who get involved in the drama of Abbie Hoffman's underground life in the Thousand Islands http://www.synergebooks.com/ebook_abbie.html me book of poetry--just jokes in the form of poems http://synergebooks.com/ebook_new&easypoems.html If you've got nothing better to do, you can read my hopefully somewhat accurate poems about the meaning of life. Good luck! Also, please buy a copy of one of my novellas or novelettes from Smashwords. It is said that a prophet is not without honor except in his home town. Based on sales of my books, looks like my home town is--THE WORLD! The young adult novelette, The Volunteers, is based on a number of true stories, or more accurately, harrowing experiences. Girlfriends Lost is completely fictional--I wish! I do not know how to explain it right now except to say, Caesar used to write about himself in the third person, but he had far better adventures. So, enjoy reading "The Death of John Blandly, Continued," included in this novella, and if you can figure it out, let me know, at jjbrearton@aol.com. A novelette that I first published here has now been released as an ebook by Aripublishing.com. It is a surprisingly popular young adult western story.
