Carol’Ann Tappaz aka Divalia is a world-renowned healer, inspirational speaker, author and singer. Her music is uplifting, her voice hypnotic and this harmonious synergy will transport the listener to higher dimensions.
Divalia was born in the French Alps and had strong psychic abilities from a very early age. After a traumatic accident at the age of 22, she developed her own healing method that also incorporated her psychic and intuitive gift.
She started playing music when she was eight and singing has always been part of her life. This organically evolved into combining the vibrations of sounds and words in her healing sessions. Her soulful music is inspired by Kirtans and a touch of Jim Morrison mixed with fairy dust. Over the years, her patients have usually found her through word of mouth and recommendations from people whose life and health has been uplifted by her gift of healing. Divalia has traveled extensively to various parts of the world where she experimented with several healing methods. She recently found the inspiration and courage to write about her personal journey towards becoming a healer. Her book Divalia's Imago, Flutter to Higher Ground and Success, was released in April of 2011. She simultaneously released the music album Imago, which is related to her book.

Years of humiliation and disappointment might have been too much for me to bear, and maybe I would have succumbed to full-blown alcoholism and drug addiction, and ended up by committing suicide. To save me from such a fate my muse held back until technology advanced to the point where I could safely sidestep those obscurantist gatekeepers trying to prevent me from getting to my readers. Now I can write what I like, put it up on Smashwords, and share the contents of my mind with anyone discerning enough to enjoy a certain brand of dark humour.

I grew up in Vermont, although I was born in Ohio. The Ohio fact is Important if you are a Real Vermonter, which I am not. You have to be third generation, I believe, in order to attain that title. To everyone else in the world, I am from Vermont. Uninteresting Fact: Vermonters are the only people who use the term "Vermonter" But I digress. This collection of shorts represent a portion of the stories I have written about growing up. So there's a lot of Vermont in this book. Not the pretty leaf, gay marriage, Howard Dean, stone fence, Robert Frost version of Vermont.. Mind you, my version does not include marriage nor Howard Dean. Streaks of my tragic naivete aside, these stories are intended to be light and entertaining. The entire collection is available as an 18-story book called NO BULL (named after one of the shorts.) You can sample some of the stories for free. With any luck you'll be enticed to part with $3, buy the whole book, and I can quit working for The Man. ...actually, since I still have the day job and I am a manager I guess that technically makes ME the man, but I don't think of myself like that. Either way, please enjoy. And make contact. Feedback is greatly appreciated, positive and neg.

I'm a writer, journalist, filmmaker, event producer and counterculture and cannabis activist. I was the first journalist to travel to the South Bronx and document the origins of hip hop. In 1988, I was hired as editor of High Times magazine. I created the Cannabis Cup, a cannabis awards ceremony held every Thanksgiving in Amsterdam, and The Freedom Fighters, the first hemp legalization group. I also created a garage-rock revival band called the Soul Assassins. In 2002 I directed the video shoot that was later released as Live in Amsterdam (Fishbone album). In 2004, I wrote most of the narration for a/k/a Tommy Chong and also appear in the film. My most recent hardback book, The Octopus Conspiracy and Other Vignettes of the Counterculture, was published by Trine Day. All my ebooks are available exclusively through smashwords. I also regularly appear at college campuses, sometimes solo, but usually as part of a debate on the legalization of cannabis, alongside former New York City D.E.A. chief Robert Stutman. The event, known as "Heads versus Feds," began in 2001 and has visited more than 200 colleges in ten years, regularly drawing standing-room crowds. Bob and I are known as "The Ultimate Odd Couple," and have become close friends despite the cultural gap between us. The debate is booked by Wolfman Productions in Connecticut.

Spinning a Tail by Marshall J. Pierce Spinning a Tail by Marshall J. Pierce March 12, 2011 $0.99 2680 words Sample 20%
