INTRODUCTION
In an effort to regulate alcohol and drugs today, more laws and educational training are directed toward illegal underage drinkers and drug users than any other group. That is because teenage drinking/ drug use is one of our nation's primary health and safety concerns. Although the legal drinking age in America was once 18, it has been 21 in all states for several decades.
Why then do you believe so many young people drink or do drugs? This book will explore why many teenagers and young adults partake in illegal drugs and the consumption of alcohol. We will not only delve into the dangers of short-term drug use but also explore the complexity of long-term drug effects, which will include alcohol.

Many scientific studies have been conducted around dopamine deficiencies. We will explore body chemistry to find out how the genes in one's body can contribute to addiction. We will also examine past myths about drugs. As a “Myth Buster,” you will decide if the myth has substance and legitimacy.
Listening to teens and hearing their concerns will target subjects that matter to their current generation. We will exam the dangerous schemes and hazing activities that should scare the pants off most parents. This book will not leave out taboo subjects. Knowledge is power!
