Sidney
went to
spend
a week with
his
grandparents on
their
farm. It was a
long
drive but when
he
arrived, Von-Von
and
Ran-Ran
greeted
him with
hugs
and kisses.
The
animals came
to
sniff him and
say
hello.
“That
tickles!”
Sidney
giggled as
a
kitten rubbed
against
his legs.
Three-year-old
week,
Sidney,” said Ran-Ran. “There
are
many exciting things to see and do
on
the farm. Let me show you around.”
Ran-Ran
lifted Sidney onto his
shoulders
and walked toward the barn.
“We
will have a fun time together this
put
them in a room that was prepared
especially
for his visit.
There
were stuffed animals on the bed,
and
an entire shelf of children’s books for
him
to enjoy. There were old toys that his
dad
played with when he was a boy.
Von-Von
carried Sidney’s bags inside and
to
rest in the swing on the back porch.
Von-Von
opened the door and leaned
out,
“Sidney, would you like to help me
in
the kitchen? I am making cookies
from
scratch.”
“From
scratch?” Sidney asked.
“Yes,
our cows give us milk and butter,
our
chickens give us eggs, and our bees
give
us sweet honey. All we need is
flour,”
she said patting a white sack,
“and
we’re set to go.”
“Okay!”
Sidney jumped from the swing
and
went inside with Von-Von.

a while, Ran-Ran and Sidney came
