3 Fun Tales About Monsters | by Kenneth W. Cain Nov. 15, 2011 | $0.99 | 165 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Author Kenneth W. Cain learned about the art of storytelling at a very young age. He would listen as his grandfather told tales late at night beside a rusty barrel fire in the midwest. Darkness, fear, mystery, and a bit of the unknown were some of the elements that the old man would weave into his stories. Although many years have passed and he is now far away from that barrel fire in Illinois, Kenneth's stories still carry the ingredients his grandfather had unwittingly taught him. His passion for the darker elements comes from maybe one too many nights working the graveyard shift. Or it could have been the books he read, the late night choices on the television or his bad dreams. Whatever the reason, he has embraced it and hopes very much to be able to give you a chill or make you think twice about locking your front door. Kenneth pursued writing and art his entire life. After graduating college, Kenneth spent 20 years in the graphic design industry, yet he never stopped writing, as it was his true passion. In 2007, the opportunity presented itself to write full time and Kenneth has never looked back since. Kenneth resides with his wife and two children in Pennsylvania. |

| Author bio: Kylie was a bush kid from the far outback. She loved riding her bicycle on the long distance camping trips – often of several weeks duration that took us to the next job.. She loved writing stories she could share with other children. Kylie did her schooling by correspondence (distance education). On our trips (bikes being our only transport by the way) she did her lessons sitting under any convenient shady shrub or tree or by firelight. Several times during the long summer school holidays we made camp in a city and Kylie would get a newspaper delivery round – filling in for some kid who was on holidays. She enjoyed joining in the free school holiday programs run for kids in the high rise flats. Kylie wrote “A Bunch of Battlers†based on her experiences in the bush and in the city. . When Kylie developed a fatal illness she showed great courage, thinking only of others. Kylie asked that I try to get her stories published so other children could enjoy them. Kylie's Mum |

A Collection of Stories for Demented Children | by John H. Carroll Oct. 21, 2011 | $0.99 | 21538 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: John H. Carroll was the youngest of seven children and was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1970 where he was kept in a dresser drawer with the clean socks. Luckily he wasn’t kept with the dirty socks or else he might have grown up to become slightly warped. As a child, John spent most of his time wandering through the Mojave Desert in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the sky, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. One of his favorite memories is watching his dad build the fuselage of Evel Kneivel’s skycycle in their garage. One of his least favorite moments was watching that skycycle fall into the Snake River. (Not his dad’s fault and he has documentation to prove it, so nyah) As a teenager, John spent most of his time driving wherever he could in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the road, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. He was the captain of the chess team and lettered in golf and band while in high school and wasn’t beaten up anywhere near as much as one might imagine. As an adult, John spent most of his time staring at a computer screen in an attempt to avoid people. He stares at the monitor for hours, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. He has been married to his wonderful wife for 14 years and they have three obnoxio . . . wonderful children who always behave . . . when they’re asleep. John is surrounded at most times by emo bunny minions. He is their imaginary friend and they look to him for guidance. At one point they took over the world. No one noticed because they left everything exactly as it was. They gave the world back after a week because it was depressing. The Willden Trilogy is his first series of books. All of his short stories are free and he is working on various novellas as well as a new series coming out in late 2011. He writes in the evenings and weekends whenever possible. Regrettably, the family mentioned in the previous paragraph desires food and shelter, requiring the author to possess a full time job until such time as his writing makes him rich. |

An idea will pop into my head and then grow. I do not control the ideas genres, nor do I control the stories unfolding. Why do I tell stories? Well mainly to shut the characters up. They do not stop whispering in my head until their story is told. Oh, also you the reader. Yes, I have to admit that I tell stories for your entertainment. My characters depending on genre and what they are doing will try to make you laugh, cry, hold your breath, bring you to the front of your seat, and so on. They want to entertain you. So on behalf of all the whispering people in my head I hope you enjoy the ride of what ever story you choose to read. |
